If my heart could speak to yours

I wish I could explain,

the way it makes me feel,

to listen how your life should be,

and how life got too real.

I want to see you fight for them

remember the dreams you shared.

kids are tough, even hard to love.

A strong man will show he cares!

Kids need to know that you won't quit,

When things don't go your way.

You must not fall in the brat trap.

You vowed that you would stay!

I know its hard to sacrifice

those things you think should be.

But children need a steady hand,

that sets aside his "ME".

As a parent and as a mate,

hang on tight; Insist,

to little minds and little wills

(though often they will resist)

that you and she are of one mind

They'll do their worst, they'll fuss and fight

Stay fast,

stay stable, gentle, kind.

It may take all your might!

See, Children have not yet lived their lives,

They need to grow and be.

Just like you, one day you'll see,

young men that bring you pride.

Kids will rarely give you thanks,

For your struggle and sacrifice.

I vow one day you'll see the thanks

within, two young men's grateful eyes.

Let those things that steal your joy

stay small, they'll go away.

Don't dwell and focus on those things.

They'll surely drive one away!

I want for you, Integrity,

a clear and focused mind

that finds a way to live and dream.

Imperfect family by your side.
